Rhinoceros 3D – Rhino 8 Training

Learn Rhino 3D in a small, hands-on class. Seats are limited to 6 students.

Lessons are taught by a Certified Rhino 3D Trainer, GIA Graduate, and certified jeweler and gemologist with over 25 years of experience in 3D design, modeling, digital fabrication, and 3D printing. This hands-on training program is designed for professionals who want to master Rhino 8 for architecture, product design, jewelry, woodworking, furniture design, sculpture, metal fabrication, and other creative industries that rely on precision modeling and digital workflows.

By the end of this Rhino 3D training course, participants will be able to:

  • Navigate and confidently utilize the Rhino 3D user interface in Rhino 8, understanding essential tools, menus, and commands used in professional 3D modeling and CAD design.

  • Customize the Rhino modeling environment to suit individual workflows for architectural design, jewelry modeling, product design, and 3D printing projects.

  • Create and edit basic graphic objects such as lines, circles, arcs, curves, solids, and surfaces using Rhino 8’s precision drawing tools for detailed and accurate 3D construction.

  • Model with precision using coordinate input, object snaps, and SmartTrack™ tools, mastering Rhino’s powerful accuracy features essential for technical modeling and digital fabrication.

  • Modify and transform curves and surfaces using edit commands, Gumball manipulator tools, and advanced geometry control techniques for professional 3D design workflows.

  • Apply control point editing to refine curves and surfaces, improving surface smoothness and continuity for high-quality industrial, architectural, and jewelry designs.

  • Analyze and validate 3D models for accuracy, ensuring geometry integrity before exporting or 3D printing prototypes or production-ready parts.

  • Display and manage multiple model views in Rhino 8, using viewport configurations to visualize designs from different perspectives during the modeling process.

  • Import and export 3D models across multiple file formats, including STL, STEP, OBJ, and DXF, for seamless integration with other CAD and rendering software.

  • Render photorealistic models using Rhino Render, learning to apply materials, lighting, and textures for professional 3D visualization and presentation.

  • Add accurate dimensions, annotations, and text labels to communicate design intent in technical documentation or client presentations.

  • Use Layouts and printing tools in Rhino 8 to organize model views, scale drawings, and prepare printable CAD layouts for portfolios, production, or client review.
